SOLITARY DANCER 2006

Paper, thousands of pieces, Collage on Board. Inspired by my wife, Sharon, dancing to the jazz playing in my studio as I painted late one evening. This collage has multiple layers of geometric shapes and vibrant colors which form soft, sensual textures. Bright colors and a high-gloss sheen make this a beautiful work to display in your home or office. The collage technique I use is complicated and work intensive, but the method assures each piece will be enduring. I acquired my interest and love of collage from my dear friend artist Keith Martin who was active from 1933, when he first showed at the Julian Levy Gallery in New York,until his death in 1980. From him, I learned the high standards and commitment an artist must make to the work of painting. Comes to you framed and ready to hang.
