MOMMY PLEASE 2007

Acrylic and Paper Collage on Canvas. This work depicts a daughter begging for the love of her mother. It's a story that many daughters can tell. Too many mothers miss the greatest gift of life by never saying "I love you" and never showing gratitude or pride in their daughters. This work is beautiful to view in person with its golden halo over the figure's head and the bright colors and active background. The daughter's body seems to grow out of the earth with gnarled branches and rocks. She, like her need for acceptance, is universal and timeless, reminding all of us that no matter how wonderful a woman's life may seem, she is first a daughter who needs her mother's approval and love before anything else has value. The gift she offers upward is never acknowledged so she keeps pleading "mommy please, please take my love and honor my existence with that simple but priceless phrase "I love you". This work comes framed and ready to hang including a registered numbered certificate of value and ownership from the National Registry of Fine Art for your assurance.
